It is confirmed that Club Secretary, Ian Silvester is to leave Leeds United with immediate effect after six years' loyal service at Elland Road.
Ian, who joined Leeds from Leicester City in December 1998, is a further casualty of the club's ongoing review of expenditure following relegation from The FA Premier League last May.
"It is with much sadness that I find myself leaving this great club and whilst disappointed at the Board's decision, I fully understand their reasons and hope that given my experience it will not be too long before I am back in the game, " commented Silvester.
"I leave with many happy memories of my time at Leeds United, especially in 2000/2001 when under David O'Leary the club reached the semi-final stage of the UEFA Champions League. I would also like to acknowledge the support that I have received from Managers and players both past and present as well as former Chairman, Peter Ridsdale who was responsible for my appointment."
Shaun Harvey, Chief Executive Officer said: "The Company would like to thank Ian for his commitment to the club since joining in December 1998.
"The financial difficulties that follow relegation from The FA Premier League are well documented, as are those of Leeds United specifically. A staff restructuring programme throughout the company has been undertaken since relegation which has led to Ian's departure along with other staff during the last 10 months.
"We wish him well in the future and are sure it will not be too long before Ian finds new employment within football."
