Leeds United are saddened to report the passing away of Bruce Craven, a valued member of the club's physiotherapy team.
Bruce died yesterday of cancer (melanoma) at the age of 32 and tonight's scheduled reserve game against Birmingham City has been called off as a mark of respect.
Bruce, who lived near Pontefract, was also a former conditioner for the Leeds Tykes and a trainer with Castleford Rugby League club.
Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell said: "Bruce is a massive loss and the sudden loss has really knocked everyone at the club.
"Bruce was a very valuable member of the physio team here and highly respected amongst all his peers."
The club are organising a dinner for April 12th at Elland Road in aid of melanoma research.
Matthew Spring has been given a week's compassionate leave following the death of his and his partner Victoria's first baby, Jacob.
Jacob was born prematurely and died three days later.
Our thoughts and prayers for Matthew, Victoria and their loved ones at this time of sadness and reflection.
